"The piece you're looking at is a felled log bridge suitable for 1:100 scale wargaming. To achieve this look, I started with a base coat of brown, making sure to get into all the nooks and crannies to simulate shadow and wood grain texture. Dry brushing was the key technique used here, applying lighter shades of brown to highlight the raised details and give the impression of weathered wood. The final step involved a very thin black wash to emphasize the shadows and add depth. For the ropes, a base of dark brown with a light tan dry brush technique brought out the texture." - Stuart
